Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on TV. This role brought her an Emmy nod for the Best Supporting Actress category and she also was awarded two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on an ensemble cast in a comedy.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, however, she grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna watched her mom, Anne, perform in the church when she was a child and was able to instill a love of performing and theater.
She's an actress trained who returned to theater after The Office. The role she played was Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway play Reasons to Be Happy. Then, she starred in Steve Martin's newest show Meteor Shower. It was an absurdist comedic piece opposite Greg Germann, Josh Stamberg and ran for record-breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
In the month of October, Fischer and The Office co-star and best friend in real life Angela Kinsey began the podcast Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. It has grown to been a huge success, landing on the Top Ten globally every week and gaining over 200 million downloads in its initial two years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year Award in January 2021.
The Actor's Life The Actor's Life is her first novel, and chronicles the road she took starting in St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood and then to Hollywood, where she was an actress professionally. Her next book, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is a memoir of her closest friend, as well as their time at The Office.
